Great Vlog and Smartphone Video Tips
It’s a new year, and we have some great vlog tips to help you producing smartphone videos in 2013.
New Year’s is always a good time to reflect back on the lessons learned and set goals for the days ahead.
If you do nothing else this year, make a video. Even better, make a video series.
A vlog can help you build relationships, and can help you both personally and professionally.
Believe it or not, Chip and I met back on YouTube in 2006/7.
I’ll share more about that story later, but for now, think about what kind of content you want to produce
You may be intimidated with the equipment and technology, but the best advice we can provide is: Just do it.
The more research you do up front in terms of the equipment and software that is required the better, but you don’t have to spend a ton.
You probably own a smartphone, and if you have a computer, you have free editing software already.
Speaking of smartphones, the same production techniques apply to smartphone videos. Watch your lighting, capture good audio, and keep your phone/camera still.
I found a great piece of equipment that you should invest in for your phone, and it’s less than 20 bucks.
These are great viog and smartphone video tips that you can put into action right now.
2013 Plans
As far as what we’re working on, we’re continuing to build our library of tutorials, and create content that adds value.
In 2012, we joined the online education community Udemy, and have several free video production courses there.
I created one called, Produce Videos like a Pro, and Chip created a Green Screen 101 class.
Don’t worry because we’re planning to add all of our classes and more to this site soon.
If you sign up for our free newsletter, you’ll receive, Produce Videos like a Pro in your inbox.
Thanks so much for your continued support and attention. Good things are ahead.

Smartphone Tripod Adaptor
Thanks for the tip on the smartphone adapter. I have a more expensive, custom adapter, but this is a great, inexpensive tool for when I am using a different phone or recording on someone else’s phone. Thanks for sharing.
Mike
No problem Mike! I wasn’t sure how well it would work, but it’s great.
